Oakville Built-In Bedroom Wardrobe

Project Overview

This Oakville bedroom commission replaced a standard closet with something that actually makes use of the full wall. The brief was straightforward: maximum storage, no visible clutter, and a finished look that reads as part of the room rather than furniture pushed against it.

The result is a wall-to-wall built-in spanning floor to ceiling, finished in white with crown moulding at the top that ties the cabinetry into the room's architecture. Behind the doors, the layout is divided into three zones: hanging sections on either side sized for full-length and double-hang garments, and a centre column with open shelving above and three deep drawers below — enough drawer space to replace a separate dresser entirely.

The hardware mixes matte black bar pulls on the drawers with satin nickel bar handles on the doors, a subtle contrast that gives the facade visual interest without breaking the overall calm of the white palette. Upper cabinets above each zone add out-of-season or overflow storage that keeps the main sections free for daily use.

The before-and-after is stark — what was a single closet opening is now a complete storage wall that makes the bedroom feel finished and intentional. It's the kind of upgrade that changes how a room functions every single day.
